Storyboards
Visual context
For our project, storyboarding was a useful technique for visualizing how our application would be used in certain scenarios to help the user. Combining the user scenarios and design sketches for our application, we created storyboards for how our makers would use the application.
We made storyboards for:
-
Finding inspiration
-
Learning about workshops
-
Searching for tools
-
Signing up for a tool queue
-
Notifying a staff member
-
Getting help from other makers
-
Finding a tutorial
Our storyboards bring our key path scenarios to life by helping us consider the contexts our application could be used in real life, by real people and real settings. Using what we learned from visualizing our scenarios, we started focusing on the organization of the application. We created a sitemap to identify all the components in our application.
